The role and goals of Mililani ‘Ike Student Council is to promote school spirit and pride, provide experience and training in citizenship and leadership, and provide a service and communication network within the school.
Our Student Council is made up of four Officers who are elected the previous school year and one class representative from each 3rd to 5th grade class. Student Council Members have after school meetings once a month and lunch meetings as needed. Student Council Members promote school spirit by leading school assemblies and other school-wide events, providing service opportunities for our school and planning spirit week. They also plan and work at our Spirit Store that is open for a limited time during the second part of the school year.
Our ‘Ike Student Council Members receive experience in leadership by being part of a committee that plans and implements a school-wide service project. They have monthly leadership lessons and have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers on a variety of topics.
One of the highlights of the school year for Student Council Members is participating in a mock trial to learn about the legal process and a field trip to U.S. District Court.
Service projects and community events in the past have included: The Hawaiian Humane Society, The Institute of Human Service, Hawaii Food Bank, Mililani Make a Difference Day, Shoeboxes for the Homeless, Mililani High School Homecoming Parade and Mililani Eat the Street.
