Junior Police Officer (JPO)

JPO’s participate in a rotational weekly duty as well as weekly drills.  Weekly drills are conducted by a Honolulu Police Department (HPD) Officer.  The HPD Officer prepares the students for a drill competition which takes place in May.

At Mililani `Ike, the Junior Police Officer (JPO) Program is open to all students in grades 4 through 5.  The purpose of the program is to ensure campus and pedestrian safety.  In order to become a JPO, students must complete an application which includes a teacher recommendation.  Once students are selected to become a JPO, training is provided to students.

Mililani `Ike JPOs exemplify what it means to be a T.R.R.F.C.C. person.  Through JPOs, students learn teamwork and discipline.  The JPOs take great pride in being a member of the squad as well as being role models for the school. They demonstrate `Ike Pride which is taking pride in all that we do!
