Students have P.E. on a seven day rotational schedule. Classes grades K and 1 are 30 minutes while grades 2 though 5 will attend for 45 minutes.
Physical Education Curriculum
We focus on and implement HCPS III (Hawaii Content and Performance Standards) in our Physical Education curriculum. Here are the four current standards.
Standard 1: MOVEMENT FORMS - Use motor skills and movement patterns to perform a variety of physical activities.
Standard 2: COGNITIVE CONCEPTS - Understand movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply performance of physical activities.
Standard 3: ACTIVE LIFESTYLE - Participate regularly in physical activity.
Standard 4: PHYSICAL FITNESS - Know ways to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

Students should be dressed appropriately for their P.E. classes. This is not just for safety but so they can get he most out of their time during our class period. Students should wear covered shoes that are appropriate for running and jumping on the field s well as the court. Clothing should allow your child to move freely and should not be too warm.
